Center for Community Service - 2002

Day centers were created in Bucharest Buzau and Targu–Jiu in collaboration with Child Protection Department. A team of specialists was created and trained for work with the families of the children who are under the protection of the State.

Period of Project – September 2002 to September 2004

Aim of Project – Development of an intervention model for "Family reintegration” for the children in the placement centers.

Target group – Children between 2- 18 years who are in placement centers or who are in the risk of getting into the placement centers.

Activities Developed

Deinstitutionalization Component

• 109 Children from the placement centers were reintegrated in their families

Prevention Component

• 78 children didn’t get into the placement centers.

Seminars/Training sessions organized for the Project

• 3 seminars for the workers of the child protection department of sector 5
• 3 seminars regarding the community network of intervention
